Hello guys. Vacation is finally over. We spent a week in Johnstown and visited alot of my husband's relatives and families. That was fun and of course i did little bit shopping and will posting the haul later next week.
And....
I have a great news. Im going to beauty school in August!!! I passed the test! yay! :) So back to the old posting that saying i had been busy with GED test, i dont need that! How awesome! I thought GED score was required for people who doesnt graduate in the U.S. but the truth is GED is required for people who never been graduated in high school. And i did graduate my high school in Indonesia and have the diploma paper with me along with the English translations. So all are set and i decided to go to beauty school. Im so excited and nervous to start. I will be away from home for 10 months during the school which is pretty sad. But i know it will go fast as time goes by!

Hi guys! Tonight's post is swatches of Nicole by OPI - Love Your Life. I applied 4 coats. The application wasnt too hard, but in the beginning i had hard time to get the hearts-shaped to come out onto the brush. For that, i had to put the cap back on then shake the polish gently. And then, to get the hearts on the nails, i need to tap it directly onto my nails. It need a little efforts for this type of polish.
I wasnt satisfied of how it looked like by itself. I think it look prettier with any base colors under it. The formula is slight thick and easy to apply.
Will you wear this polish with or without any base color under it?
has been in my make up drawer for a month or so. Uses at least 1-2 times a week.
Today's Post is Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Beige Medium. This has requested by Fenn from Ocassionally Impulsive .
The website says :
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
• Formula is jet-milled into ultra-fine particles for an air-soft, ultra-silky texture
• The suede-touch puff smoothes onto skin evenly, effortlessly, for the most beautiful matte perfection
FOR BEST RESULT :
Apply Dream Matte® Powder to your forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin with the provided puff using gentle downward strokes. Build coverage gradually.
Packaging
I like the packaging of this pressed powder. The packaging made of pan plastic container. It looks chic , also the good idea of putting the puff on its own place which seperated from the powder, so we know with this way at least it would prevent of bacteria growth which it doesn't matter for me if the packaging like any other pressed powders.
Application
I use tall kabuki brush to apply it. I use the puff sometimes for emergency touch ups.
The texture
It's very silk/smooth without any powdery at all. Love it :)
Finishing / Coverage
It gives natural matte finish. The coverage is from light to medium. You can layers the application couple times to get medium coverage. But for full coverage, i don't think so. And for skin like me (very oily and have blemishes), i only get very light coverage. I tried to layers it, still the coverage is very light on me. It doesnt cover any blemishes, just make them look smoother. For flawless skin person, you probably dont even need foundation ,etc underneath, just use this powder alone, you are good to go.
Oil Control
On the very warm day (up to 100 F)
After 1 and half hour i can notice my face get little shiny. This occurs without foundation underneath. If you are expecting for better oil control, should have good foundation under it.
On the cool - little warm day ( up to 80 F)
It holds the oil after couple hours.
The swatch :
Choose the "without flash" as the closest swatch in the real life.
Price : $8.23
Available at local drugstore in U.S. ; for Indonesians, you can pick this up at malls in Maybelline counters.
Rephurchase : Yes.
Likes :
- Affordable
- Natural Matte Finishing
- Available in 4 shades - is that enough? no? for me yes for powder ;)
- No breakouts occurs
- Scent-free ( don't get me wrong, i basically love yummy smells on products except for face products )
- Chic packaging
- Available in drugstore
Dislikes :
- The packaging is little hard to open , so is the mirror to slide out.
- The oil control isnt that good on very oily skin (on the very warm day)
I hope you enjoy this review post. Please note : this post based on my honest opinion and personal experience that might different with yours.
So what are your thoughts about this powder?

Oh yeah i got good news : My lovely DOG is coming home today safely. My husband found her in the side of the road today. Im so so so so happy!!! Thanks God she is alright, just little bit skinnier.
Hi guys. Im not that in the good mood today, well im super sad to be exact. I lost my dog. She was missing last night. :((
Despite of that, i wanna share my NOTD that i have planned from yesteday. I tried hard to entertained myself by doing this today. Even though it's not the best mani, but i tried my best to create it.
Products used :
- Sally Hansen Ultimate Shield Base and Top Coat
- OPI Overexposed In South Beach
- Nicole by OPI Love Your Life (let me know if you want me to make a swatch post of this polish alone)
I planned this mani for during my vacation time, and we suppose to go tomorrow. But how can i go when my dog is missing? :( I dont know....
Alright guys, thanks for checking this post out. Please keep my dog in your prayer so she comes home soon!
Vacation is about to start! Im so excited packing things up! We going for a week to Johnstown to visit my husband's parent and relatives. How about you? Are you planning to go somewhere during summer break? :)
I thought to share with you my travelling cases and how i packed my make up and toiletries stuff which it can be A LOT and PAIN to bring all of them.
This is my make up case. It's little small to carry alot of things but luckily, everything i wanna bring just fit inside this case. :D
So this is "Travelon Compact Hanging Toiletry Kit". For the name, it suppose to use for carry all toiletries stuff but i use it for make up stuff instead. The price with shipping was $25.54. But i got this for free because i had my swagsbucks points big enough to redeemed by Amazon Gift Card. Click here to see where i got this case from. And for those who have no idea what swagbucks is, you can click here to sign up and start earning points to get free prizes ( such as gift cards and all kind of stuff). I also provided the swagbuck's picture on the right sidebar of this page, just click it right away will bring you to their page.
Anyway, back to the main topic. This is how it look like when i open my make up case :
So on the top i have all my lipstick and lipgloss. I carry quite many of them.
Then zip it open, you gonna get :
And in the middle section, i have my foundation, concealer, blush, mini eyeshadow palette along with naked 2 of course, make up brushes ( i put them in the ziploc bag and for eye brushes in the pinky/purple toothbrush holder ) lol i know i "misuse" alot of things. :/
And the front of it, i have my powder and bronzer.
And underneath that, i put my jewelries in.
The next section in the bottom, i have all my eye make up stuff that "stick-shaped" such as eyeliner, eye base and mascara. In the last section i put all my hair stuff that necessary during make up application. The problem i have with this case is i cant put too much stuff and it little hard to zip it close.
And now here is my toiletries case that i got free as a bonus gift from Glamour Magazine Subscriptions :
I bought travel size bottles and put some liquids in each. And i labeled them in case i forgot what's in there otherwise would cause the trouble lol. It could be dangerous! And also i bought medicine holder kit that contains 4 mini boxes, i put all my face regimen stuff in it and labeled them as well. Other than that, there is make up remover, baby powder, travel size toothbrush.
So now, have you packed your stuff for vacation yet? How do you pack them? Please let me know in the comment box :)
Thank you so much for checking this out. Have a good day
Hello guys. As you guys know that i mentioned before i made new blog by the name "Yoannita Likes" where i can express everything, not only nail polish related post and after 6 months i been running 2 blogs at a time, it kind of bother me. So i stick to the thought that i only want running 1 blog. After had a disscuss with Shella from Polish Wonderland, i finally decide to just combine these 2 blogs become one where it will take place in this blog. To get there, im gonna have to change this blog's name into "Yoannita Likes" as it would covers the main definition of the posts in my blog.
Im aware that i may sounds complicated, change things up like this. But i realize i didnt that enjoy to have 2 diff blogs. So this is my final decision. Im sorry for all of you who got confused by me :(. Thank You so much for your loyalness to keeping your attention to my both blogs. I love you all and i still here with you in the blog world.
PS : Thank You Shella for ur time to discuss this matter and lead me through this final decision.
I decided to start making monthly favorites start from today. Because i think it would be kind of helpful to show some stuff that works for me on June and i hope it gives you some ideas on essentials stuff you gonna use in this super warm weather. But please note, these products might fave for me, but might not for you ;)
This is hair treatment serum that gives glossy/shine look on my hair. Also makes my hair a lot smoother. I always use this serum after washing my hair, apply it on my damp hair (start from the middle through the ends). It has smells like coconut, and i dont really a fan of coconut scent. But that's not a big deal and i always pleased with the way my hair look after it completely dry. I love this serum so much :)
SPF 100 sunblock sounds very intimidating, i know. But this stuff works for me. I always use this whenever im going out. This can be used either for face and body. I never had sunburn or anything skin-damaged from sun using this product. What i like about this sunblock is the formula isnt too greasy. It is little bit greasy but so far this is the best "less greasy" suncare i've tried and just put some makeup over the sunblock, the greasiness will just gone. Let me know if you know sunscreen that isnt greasy at all, i'd happy to try it ;)
3. Nivea Body Natural Tone
Whenever i get out from shower, i always put this stuff all over me. During this summer, i almost have to take shower every single day. I love this stuff, it doesnt have any particular smells to it, just regular nivea body lotion smells (that i have no idea how to describe the smells) which i love for daily basis use. So fresh and make my skin moisturized without greasy feeling.
4. Revlon ColorStay Foundation ( For Combination/Oily Skin) in Sand Beige
Best drugstore foundation for oily skin with good coverage! Perfect for summer. Thats it :)
5. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
I came across this product after watching one of Xteener's video. She has oily skin and use this one so i tried this powder and i like it. It somehow gives little coverage to my face and looks matte.
6. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
My favorite eyeshadow palette for all of times, because it has all neutral colors and true deep "black" shade in the end. I can use some shade for contouring sides of my nose and dark shades i use for natural eyeliner. So i think this palette has got it all. I dont need primer, also i dont need to worry fall out during application. If you interested the swatches from this palette, please click here .
7. NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny
Due to tanned that i got these days, bronzer is one of my essential stuff on makeup. The foundations i own, sometimes look little lighter on me so i use this bronzer to balancing up the look. And i love it kinda summery glow.
8. Lioele Blooming Gloss in Lovely Twoway
I love the smells of this lipgloss also it gives beautiful glossy finishing look. But i find when i only wear the lipgloss alone, then i have a meal, my lips tend to look disgusting afterwards. So i always wear lipstick underneath.
9. Lisa Gregory's channel youtube
Lately, i discovered newbie beauty guru on youtube. What i like from her are she is very natural and she has nice british accent. She is beautician from UK. Also she is the most beautiful beauty guru i've ever seen. So if you are from UK , should be proud of her because she makes her videos interesting like any other beauty gurus on youtube. But nobody is as natural as her performing on camera.Click here to check her channel. This is one of her video :
So, what is your June favorites? Let me know in the comment below :)
Have a good day Everyone :) And oh yeah, HAPPY 4TH OF JULY to all my american friends!! :D
It's going to be a looong post! We should get started, shouldnt we?
Now the time for me to drag the product description from Sephora into here :
What it is:A shine controlling, oil-free, water-resistant, complete coverage liquid foundation. What it is formulated to:Hides imperfections, evens out skintone, and mattifies with a non-oily, perfectly powdered finish. The result is flawless and lasts for hours. What else you need to know:Although this foundation provides full coverage, the end result is completely adjustable to fit your needs—a little goes a long way.Research results:-Study panel composed of 22 adults (using a 48 hour patch test) showed this product to be non-irritating and non-comedogenic.
Ingredients :
No. 40 - Natural Beige -Corn Starch:
Vegetable mattifying powder.
-Cyclopentasiloxane: Volatile silicone oil for substitute leave on shining oil.

I picked up mine in no 40 - Natural Beige. It is for medium light skin with yellow undertones. Honestly i have no idea how to inferring undertones of faces, i think im lucky to picked the right shade for myself :) All i know that my skin is medium light.
And now the nervous thing to be revealed here (the left picture), no effect, no changes, no touch ups whatsoever :
I started to try foundation at 10.15 am to 05.30 pm and the weather was crazily super hot 92-97 F means around 33 to 37 C
Application :
I applied moisturizer and primer underneath the foundation. And as you can see i only used the smaller than pea-sized ammount of the foundation with this damp brush :
I worked start from the center, buffed them outward evenly all over my face. And as written on Sephora web on the product description that a little goes a long way. The smaller than pea-sized ammount is really perfect for my entire face. The foundation dries quickly, so you better work fast.
Packaging
It's a rectangle plastic tube that you need to squeeze to get the foundation out. The packaging quite small :( i was shock when this came in my mail.
Formula & Finishing
Liquid and it gives matte finish. Feels light on my skin also. Actually if u want, you can skip the powder since it look matte and powdered already.
Coverage
It gives medium to full coverage. My forehead has some quite small blemishes, and i do need concealer to cover it over this foundation, but i didnt use concealer this time for this review's sake :)
Staying Power
With Flash :
Without Flash :
So, based on these pictures i'd say the staying power is awesome even though it doesnt as perfect as the time i put them on (at 10.15 am) but the foundation pretty much still there though!
Oil Control
I have super oily skin! After 4 hours, i need to blot my face. This is a prove, i know it's yuck but to give accurate review, i need to display this (keep scrolling down if you really refuse to see this!)
Hmmm what else? Oh i remember the product say its water-resistant. Let's see :
click the picture so you can see it better
So i had a silly idea to splashing water onto my face just want to see how it turned out afterwards. Then after couple seconds wiped it off with paper towel. so what do you think guys? on the picture, it shows nothing came off onto the paper towel. But i think the water did something to the foundation as it doesnt look as good anymore. But the foundation slightly still there. so i guess i can use this when i go swimming? :) ooops look at the 3rd picture, my eyeliner on the right eye smear down lol.
Price : $36
Size : 1.01 oz
Where to buy : i bought mine online on Sephora, or you can get in the mall in Make Up For Ever counters.
Likes :
- Long wearing foundation
- Good oil control
- Wide range of shade ( 16 shades )
- Lightweight
- Good coverage
- Travel friendly
- No breakouts
- A little goes a long way
- You get what you paid
Dislikes :
- Small packaging
Repurchase? Yes for a long time yet because i'd love to try other high end foundation see if any other gives a better result!
Overall, this foundation isnt something that called "my holygrail product" yet though but this is really good quality for the price. I dont regret buying this at all.
So, have you tried this foundation? If so, Tell me your experiences with this foundation!
Thanks for checking this post out. Have a good day! :)
