My Night Time Skincare Routine

Hello loves! This post is going to be my night time skincare routine! For now, my night time skincare routine is mixing between asian and american beauty products. As you already know, i recently purchased some korean skincare stuff and has discovered new faves that becoming my staples in my skincare regimen. FYI, I have an oily skin and acne prone skin.

watch the live video :

Step #1 - Removing my makeup
I always using natural oils such as coconut oil or olive oil to remove eye makeup, this works great especially when i have heavy makeup on ( like million layer of mascara , heavy smokey eyes , etc )

Step #2 - Washing my face
Aveeno Ultra Calming Foaming Cleaner + Clarisonic Mia
This cleanser is very gentle, great removing dirts and resideu on my face without overdrying my face. And I'm using Clarisonic as my cleansing brush 2 - 3 times a week.

Step #3 - Toner
Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner
This toner isn't a must step for me. But i usually do this step for days i have makeup on , just to making sure everything comes off my skin. Toner is great to removing any residue dirt that still sit on my face even after washing it.

Step #4 - Serum
Skinfood Pore Sake Serum
Serum is like extra vitamin / supplement for my skin. This pore supposed to minimizing large pores i have. And so far i really loving this serum, it mattifying my skin also at the same time.

Step #5 - Moisturizer
Tarte Maracuja Oil
This beauty oil is multifunctional for areas on your body. Basically i can put this oil to anywhere in my body that needs hydration / extra moisture. I used 3 - 4 small drops and apply it onto my face. This oil doesn't make my face greasy, this gives right amount of moisture and absorb into my skin pretty fast! In the morning i wake up, i feel my complexion looking better and brighter!

Ponds Dry Skin Cream
This works best in the winter time! But even on summer, i still find myself reaching this a lot as my moisturizer. I only use a small dime - sized and dab it on my face and spread it out. It doesn't make my face greasy either.

Additional Treatment - Facial Masks
I have four masks that i've been loving so dearly. Facial Mask goes after Step #3 ( Toner ). I do facial mask routine twice a week.

  1. Freeman Clay Mask Mint & Lemon : i use this for whenever i have crazy breakouts on my chin or few acnes anywhere on my face.
  2. Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask (Green Tea) : this mask gives such cooling sensation and deep hydrated and moisturized my skin.
  3. Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off : i use this for whenever i want to deep cleansing my skin. It has sugary beads that exfoliating my skin.
  4. Tonymoly Tomatox Magic Massage Pack : my all time fave mask. it has great scent and make my skin feeling so smooth afterwards!

Is my skincare sounds bit too much for you? When i finished writing all these, seriously i feel like i am that typical high maintenance girl on the skin...

I hope you enjoy this post!! Thanks so much for checking this post out! :) Let me know how's your nighttime skincare routine? Do you do less than mine?

Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation

It's going to be a looong post! We should get started, shouldnt we?

Now the time for me to drag the product description from Sephora into here :
What it is:A shine controlling, oil-free, water-resistant, complete coverage liquid foundation. What it is formulated to:Hides imperfections, evens out skintone, and mattifies with a non-oily, perfectly powdered finish. The result is flawless and lasts for hours. What else you need to know:Although this foundation provides full coverage, the end result is completely adjustable to fit your needs—a little goes a long way. Research results:-Study panel composed of 22 adults (using a 48 hour patch test) showed this product to be non-irritating and non-comedogenic.

No. 40 - Natural Beige  -Corn Starch:
Vegetable mattifying powder.
-Cyclopentasiloxane: Volatile silicone oil for substitute leave on shining oil.

I picked up mine in no 40 - Natural Beige. It is for medium light skin with yellow undertones. Honestly i have no idea how to inferring undertones of faces, i think im lucky to picked the right shade for myself :) All i know that my skin is medium light.

And now the nervous thing to be revealed here (the left picture), no effect, no changes, no touch ups whatsoever :
I started to try foundation at 10.15 am to 05.30 pm and the weather was crazily super hot 92-97 F means around 33 to 37 C
Application :
I applied moisturizer and primer underneath the foundation. And as you can see i only used the smaller than pea-sized ammount of the foundation with this damp brush :

I worked start from the center, buffed them outward evenly all over my face. And as written on Sephora web on the product description that a little goes a long way. The smaller than pea-sized ammount is really perfect for my entire face. The foundation dries quickly, so you better work fast.

Packaging
It's a rectangle plastic tube that you need to squeeze to get the foundation out. The packaging quite small :( i was shock when this came in my mail.

Formula & Finishing
Liquid and it gives matte finish. Feels light on my skin also. Actually if u want, you can skip the powder since it look matte and powdered already.

Coverage
It gives medium to full coverage. My forehead has some quite small blemishes, and i do need concealer to cover it over this foundation, but i didnt use concealer this time for this review's sake :)

Staying Power

Without Flash :

So, based on these pictures i'd say the staying power is awesome even though it doesnt as perfect as the time i put them on (at 10.15 am) but the foundation pretty much still there though!

Oil Control
I have super oily skin! After 4 hours, i need to blot my face. This is a prove, i know it's yuck but to give accurate review, i need to display this (keep scrolling down if you really refuse to see this!)

Hmmm what else? Oh i remember the product say its water-resistant. Let's see :

click the picture so you can see it better

So i had a silly idea to splashing water onto my face just want to see how it turned out afterwards. Then after couple seconds wiped it off with paper towel. so what do you think guys? on the picture, it shows nothing came off onto the paper towel. But i think the water did something to the foundation as it doesnt look as good anymore. But the foundation slightly still there. so i guess i can use this when i go swimming? :) ooops look at the 3rd picture, my eyeliner on the right eye smear down lol.

Price : $36
Size : 1.01 oz
Where to buy : i bought mine online on Sephora, or you can get in the mall in Make Up For Ever counters.
